The undisputed hero of stage 4 (144 km from Zajecar to Kragujevac) became Pavel Shumanov, which not only finished second, but also topped the overall hill climb sprints ranking, by winning all of the three hill climb sprints prizes. Moreover the veteran was once the second and twice fourth in the intermediate sprints.

With his exceptionally active riding Shumanov climbed to 20th position in the overall standings. His teammate Vladimir Koev is two places ahead of him in 18th, at 1:49 minutes from the leader.

In the team standings "Hemus 1896" is on the 8th place, ahead of all bulgarian teams. 179 riders will continue the race.  | See Photo Gallery
